Be Your Own Boss
Being your own boss is one of the best things about Uber. Whether you’re an operator or a partner, you have full control over how you want to earn
Mark Escueta is one of Uber’s first partner operators, currently managing 6 drivers and 3 vehicles on the platform. One of his key tips for other partners and drivers is to maximize the fact that with Uber, you can be your own boss and control your time, so the experience of driving to earn is what you make it. By encouraging healthy competition, setting reasonable trip targets, and creating a healthy balance between shifts, Mark fosters a strong working relationship with and between his drivers, which encourages them to make the most out of the Uber platform. This way, both the Mark and his drivers are able to maximize their respective earnings without burning out.
Daniel Samonte is an Uber partner who says love is his major motivation to drive with Uber. Previously working as both a taxi and bus driver just to support his family of 7, Mark is now a full-time Uber driver, who maximizes his time on the Uber platform to meet his trip targets and increase his earnings. This way, he only needs to drive 3 to 4 days per week to support his family and send his children to school with what he earns. The days of the week he has left, he uses to spend quality time with his children.
On top of this, Daniel says he also tries to spread the love in his actions towards riders. On top of offering 5-star service with each trip, there have also with multiple instances wherein he went out of his way to return various valuables, including laptops and wallets, without asking anything in return.
